A sexy relative who wants to teach Wes Darling the meaning of kissin’ cousins, a priceless centuries old manuscript, a three hundred pound redneck, and an ex-spy who thinks murder is a justifiable means of support are just a few of the things awaiting Wes when he sails into the Dog River in search of answers about the father he never knew.
Dog River Blues blends the mystique of the liveaboard boating lifestyle and the colorful characters and vagabonds who live, work, and sometimes commit murder on our nation’s waterways. This is one voyage to Mobile, Alabama you don’t want to miss.
From the reviewers:
Suspense set on the water and family secrets explored by an excellent writer with a sure hand on the tiller. You will love this book: Five stars! – Sandra Balzo, mystery author
In the tradition of the PIs of old, Wes Darling jumps into another wild case with women, bullets and murder. Mike spins a great tale and if you appreciate a fun read, this one ought to satisfy. – Richard N. Norman
Great afternoon adventure. What a wild ride this book took me on. This was my first experience with this PI and I have to say, he is well worth the time to read. – JoJo431
Great action thriller! All Characters came alive with details. I was wore out with all they went through to find Grandpa’s missing book! Really exciting, nice explanions on history and scenery. I hope there will be many stories about Wes Darling and his adventures! – D. Waid
An entertaining read – I finished it in less than one day – and am fully looking forward to other Wes Darling stories. Colorful characters abound, including a 300 pound bully named Fish, a whole bunch of guys with some form of the name Bob, and other interesting folks, all living in and about a marina in Mobile, Alabama. Throw in a sexy kissin’ cousin, an alleged ex-spy, and a whole new, here-to-fore unknown family unit, and settle in for a rock ’em, sock ’em really good time! Mike Jastrezebski knows how to tell a good story! – Bill the Cat
I’ve been anxiously awaiting the second book in the Wes Darling series and it was worth the wait. While I was initially saddened to see Wes point his sailboat away from Key West the setting on the Dog River in Mobile was refreshingly new to me and I enjoyed learning about it. – S.R. Campbell
In September of 2003 my wife, Mary, and I moved aboard our 36-foot sailboat, Roughdraft. We sailed the boat from Minnesota to Mobile, Alabama where we lived for two years docked at a small marina.
We also spent three months living at a mooring in Key West. Currently, the boat is docked in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
In 2011 we intend to take the boat to the Caribbean where we plan to drift until it is no longer fun.
When I moved aboard it was my intention that I would write a novel. Six years later I have completed 3 mystery novels. The Storm Killer, Key Lime Blues (A Wes Darling Mystery), and Dog River Blues (A Wes Darling Mystery), are now available as paperbacks and eBooks.
