Sex and Danger – They’re always intertwined in our Kindle eBook of the Day, KayAnna Kirby’s erotic romance Claimed By Desire – here’s a free sample!

Anyone could fall prey to an ill-considered one-night stand, but CPA Allison Cain’s involves Bryson Anderson Jr., an alpha male who has it all: money, power, women, even his own island. When they meet again in the Cayman Islands it turns out that their indiscretions have consequences that could destroy them all, or change their lives forever.

Here’s the set-up for KayAnna Kirby’s erotic romance Claimed By Desire$4.99 on Kindle:

A Good Girl Gone Bad…

Certified Public Accountant Allison Cain screwed up. Against her better judgement, she sleeps with a man she meets for the first time. The next morning he is nowhere to be found. She is left alone and feels used.

But that wasn’t the end of her torture, because Allison discovers her one night stand leaves her with more than hurt feelings.

A Billionaire With Everything Except…

Bryson Anderson Jr., multi-billionaire real estate developer, has it all:  money, power, women, even his own island. A real estate acquisition brings him face to face with the alluring Allison once again on the tropical Cayman Islands.

When he hears Allison is expecting his heir as a result of their explosive one night stand, a primal urge for a family is born. However, he has to convince an angry Allison to be a family even if it’s just for their child.

He didn’t realize he could lose his heart in the process.

When Bryson becomes the target of a jilted rival out to destroy him, Allison and Bryson will have to fight for their lives and their hearts—before it’s too late.

KayAnna Kirby is a little introverted, but fun (when she decides to loosen up a bit.) She fell in love with reading in elementary school and continued to devour books whether she worked for a toy store, retail clothing store, International Banking Company, or sold cars or cosmetics.

KayAnna has a four year old daughter who is going on sixteen. KayAnna lives with her wonderful husband Gregory, who has to put up with KayAnna constantly forgetting their wedding anniversary. (He forgets too.)

She was told specifically not to adopt her dog Titan from the pound, because the employees said he was “peculiar”. After six years, she must reluctantly agree.

KayAnna works with her husband (and no, neither of them have tried to kill the other…yet) in a suburb outside of Atlanta, where they currently live.

The Reviewers Said:

My 12 year-old daughter read this book and LOVED it, so I’m writing this review per her instructions: Priscilla the Great was very suspenseful and a real page turner. Fun AND funny too! I really, really, REALLY want a sequel! Highly, HIGHLY recommended for kids my age.

Priscilla the Great is a wonderfully funny book! I have had the pleaure of reading this book and, as a grade school teacher, I have plans to get a copy for my classroom as well. Priss in no simpering heroine, waiting to be rescued by a cute boy. She’s spunky and has a great sense of humor. Priss really is a positive role model for girls

If you don’t have a young adult to buy a book for, read this yourself. I’m glad I did and am pleased that I have a place to review it and recommend it to everyone.
Priscilla the Great is an immediately engaging novel, clever, quirky, and comical. The author, Sybil Nelson, has created a character who is incredibly endearing while still feeling “real”. Well, as real a a girl who can start fires with her hands could possibly be! She is exactly what you want in a heroine, especially one who is destined to develop superpower powers and live up to the novel’s title.

5-Star Fiction! Critically Acclaimed Snake Walkers Has Just Been Released in a Kindle Edition, and It’s Our Kindle Nation eBook of the Day!

In Africa, the Snake Walkers are a mythical tribe that teaches its children from birth how to walk through a nest of poisonous snakes without being bitten. In J. Everett Prewitt’s fictionalized Arkansas town of the early 1960s, the snakes are no less poisonous….

After the 2005 hardcover edition received unanimous critical acclaim, Kindle Nation is happy to announce that J. Everett Prewitt has just released his novel Snake Walkers in a Kindle edition.

Here’s the set-up:

In his first novel, J. Everett Prewitt brings us a critically acclaimed story of violence and transformation in a small Arkansas community during the early 1960s.

Traumatized as a child after witnessing a hanging, Anthony Andrews, the first black reporter at the Arkansas Sun, seeks to solve the mysterious abandonment of a small town and the disappearance of fourteen white men.

His investigation leads him from rural Arkansas to Cleveland, Ohio as he tries to uncover a family secret kept hidden for over a decade. The closer he gets to the truth, the more he must question his own motives.

His quest not only reveals the true identity of people he has met along the way, but also points Anthony toward a path that leads to his own salvation.

The Reviews:

Snake Walkers is a captivating book. –Midwest Book Review

Prewitt is a natural story teller. I was drawn right into the story. He captured my attention from the first paragraph. The plot carries with it all the elements of conflict, romance, and intrigue. The story unfolds a haunting theme of mystery. –Richard R. Blake, Vine Voice Top 1000 Reviewer.

“Snake Walkers is a fascinating read that revisits a horrific time in history where the lives of African Americans were tragically taken by those who wanted to suppress them.” –Books2Mention Magazine.

(Prewitt) develops complex characters and a fascinating mystery with historical roots. It is an engaging novel with insights to ponder. –Small Press Review, July-August 2005, Kaye Bache-Snyder

SNAKE WALKERS is a dynamic work of fiction with a slow, deliberate pace that is reminiscent of Southern Life. The characters are well developed, colorful, flawed and each of them is transformed in the course of the story. The plot is full of twists and suspense; this adds an additional layer of richness to an already compelling work of historical fiction. — RAWSISTAZ Reviewers. (Editor’s note: RAWISTAZ is recognized by Writer’s Digest as one of the Top 101 Websites for Writers for 2006 & 2008. It promotes literature by and about African-Americans.)

Everett writes with a great mastery of plot and characters capturing the attention of readers right from the riveting opening to the punding climax…This compelling page-turner marks the debut of an extremely promising new talent. –BookWire Review

From Publishers Weekly:

In this action-packed historical romance, the only time people rest is when they’re downed with fever or knocked unconscious. Nineteen-year-old Courtney Farrow, daughter of Duncan Farrow, the most feared pirate on North Africa’s Barbary Coast, can fight, swear and think as well as if not better than most men.

But the time is 1804 and the U.S. Navy is attacking and destroying pirate strongholds. In battle, Courtney, disguised as a boy, is captured and forced to become cabin boy to Lt. Adrian Ballantine, proud, handsome, and the only man who can tame her spirit.

He has other things on his mind, though, namely discovering who is selling secrets to the pirates; she, meanwhile, suspects a traitor in the pirate ranks also.
