Kindle Nation Daily Bargain Book Alert: Linell Jeppsen’s STORY TIME is Our eBook of the Day at just $2.99, or Free Via the Kindle Lending Library, with 4.5 Stars on 35 Reviews, and Here’s a Free Sample!

In the not too distant future a young woman bears witness to the end of her world.

Earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions rock the planet, reducing cities to smoking rubble, burying entire islands and coastlines beneath cataclysmic waves.

Religious fervor and human evil erupt and entwine, becoming a maelstrom of madness in the days after, bringing with it the horror of apocalyptic war.

As a population in the depths of despair struggles to overcome insurmountable odds, can a single glimmer of hope flare into a beacon for the survivors?

This is her tale…the world is ours…and now, it’s STORY TIME.

From the reviewers:

Ordinary Americans Brave Apocalyptic Struggles: BRILLIANT!  The conclusion will amaze and prompt you to consider many things even after the book is closed. Nothing is predictable about ‘Story Time’ except that it is very well told by a fantastic writer. –  Ellen Ekey Hines

If you enjoy suspenseful tales involving the apocalypse that will keep you on the edge of your seat, Story Time is a must read. It is one of the better versions I have seen, especially if compared to other books and movies on the same subject.  –  Mistress of the Dark Path

This is a beautifully crafted book. Ms Jeppsen has done a brilliant job of portraying the entire gamut of human emotions and personalities, – from weakness to strength, despair to hope, immorality to compassion, grief to peace. Her characters are utterly believable and her descriptions of events put you in the midst of the action. It is well-paced and maintains the tension throughout. – “mountainmama”

Here’s the set-up:

Karin Williams’ devastatingly handsome project officer has a boulder-sized chip on his shoulder. Rowan Marsden expected a male engineer and he’s not giving Karin an inch. Working conditions are…tense. Even…worse, she must share on-site accommodations with the sexy Brit who she fears will break her heart. What’s a girl to do?

If Rowan had his way, he’d never work with a woman. Yet as Karin demonstrates her expertise on the job, he cannot deny his growing respect for her–or his desire. He wants the passion she offers, but not the commitment. Until a horrendous accident at the project site threatens Karin’s life, and proves that even a wounded man is destined to love….

One Reviewer Notes:

“In her exhilarating debut novel, “Taming Rowan,” Suzanne Barrett proves that she has all the qualities great romance writers are made of. She mixes just the right amount of intrigue and sensuality to keep her readers on the edge of their seats. Barrett has written a refreshing, enjoyable romance and after reading this book, you’ll find yourself wanting more from this talented new author!

What is it that has made

The Mill River Recluse

Here’s the set-up:

Disfigured by the blow of an abusive husband, and suffering her entire life with severe social anxiety disorder, the widow Mary McAllister spends almost sixty years secluded in a white marble mansion overlooking the town of Mill River, Vermont. Her links to the outside world are few: the mail, the media, an elderly priest with a guilty habit of pilfering spoons, and a bedroom window with a view of the town below. Most longtime residents of Mill River consider the marble house and its occupant peculiar, though insignificant, fixtures. An arsonist, a covetous nurse, and the endearing village idiot are among the few who have ever seen Mary. Newcomers to Mill River–a police officer and his daughter and a new fourth grade teacher–are also curious about the reclusive old woman. But only Father Michael O’Brien knows Mary and the secret she keeps–one that, once revealed, will change all of their lives forever.
One Reviewer Notes:

“Maeve Binchy fans, pay attention: Darcie Chan is your stateside solution….

The reader settles into the ebb and flow of life in Chan’s Mill River easily, even as the author toggles between past events and the present. While Chan moves the story along skillfully, the greatest strength of The Mill River Recluse is its characters. Chan’s local citizens (both past and present) are lovingly drawn and immediately recognizable. As the plot unfolds, you come to know and understand her heroes (villains, too) in a most natural way.A feel-good story that never turns saccharine, The Mill River Recluse will not disappoint. Indeed, as the last paragraphs close, the reader wants nothing more than just to spend a few more pages in Chan’s Mill River.”

–Lena Amarosa

Johnson! 1,100 FREE TITLES Sorted by Category, Date Added, Bestselling or Review Rating! plus … Joan Hall Hovey hits another thriller out of the park with NOWHERE TO HIDE (Today’s Sponsor, $2.99)

Here’s the set-up:

Raised in an atmosphere of violence and unpredictability, Ellen and Gail Morgan have banded together, survivors of a booze-fertilized battleground, forming a fierce united front against an often cold and uncaring world. When their parents are killed in a car crash, Ellen becomes the mother figure for Gail. When fifteen years later Gail is brutally raped and murdered in her shabby New York basement apartment, practically on the eve of her big breakthrough as a singer, Ellen is inconsolable. Rage at her younger sister’s murder has nearly consumed her. So when her work as a psychologist wins her an appearance on the evening news, Ellen seizes the moment. Staring straight into the camera, she challenges the killer to come out of hiding: “Why don’t you come after me? I’ll be waiting for you.”Phone calls flood the station, but all leads go nowhere. The police investigation seems doomed to failure. Then it happens: a note, written in red ink, slipped under the windshield wipers of her car, ‘YOU’RE IT.’ Ellen has stirred the monster in his lair … and the hunter has become the hunted!

One Reviewer Notes:

“Joan Hall Hovey hits another one out of the park with NOWHERE TO HIDE. The Canadian Mistress of Suspense brings her readers another taut, psychological, page-turner. This is an incredible read that will keep you up well past your bedtime late at night. It did to me. A book that is very hard to put down.“…The author has a remarkable ability to turn up the heat on the suspense. With great characterizations and dialogue, Hovey writes clearly and concisely with short chapters (a feature I really like) that prompts the reader to keep on turning pages.”

–James A. Anderson, Author
