Loved it. Hide and Seeks’ plot is complex, but never confusing. As the story unfolds, little clues are left like breadcrumbs leading us down a path. The characters are well-developed and feel like real people. I was immediately sucked into their world and enjoyed every second of the journey. – BookAddict

A good read. I enjoyed the first 2 books by this author, so decided to check out the third. This one starts with a simple game that evolves into a complex plot and kept me guessing. A good twist on an adult version of Hide and Seek. Nice to see Jackson back and up against a new challenge. As with the author’s other works, this one has great character development and smooth dialogue. The final twist at the end I didn’t see coming. – Daniel August

Gripping suspense novel. I loved this book and really enjoy Ms. Hilborne’s style. I am working backwards now and reading Madness and Murder and it is equally as intriguing! She writes no nonsense stories that keep you engaged and wondering what is going to happen next. The characters in Hide and Seek are interesting and exciting and tied together very well. I thoroughly enjoyed this read! – Laura C

Homicide cop, John Doucette, is on the case. Something about Isabelle unnerves him. Could she be innocent? If she is, how did the murder weapon come to be in her possession? Someone from her past connects them; someone that Doucette does not want to face.

Doucette must set aside his personal feelings and fears to work through the tangled web of deceit before the case goes cold and a killer goes free.

From the reviewers:

Brilliant.  I really liked the way it was written and immediately become fond of the main character (Isabelle), and it was nice to see the return of Inspector Doucette. The story had me guessing all the way through – I kept changing my mind about ‘who dunnit’ and still didn’t get it right in the end! A thoroughly enjoyable read, I absolutely recommend it.  –  Carrie

After reading Hilborne’s first novel, I was eager to try the second. Her energetic pace, her well-fleshed out and believable characters, and her attention to small details of behavior and place filled this fast-paced, short crime story with plenty of lures to keep me turning pages to figure out who murdered and more importantly why.  You will take no break when you read No Alibi.  –  A.L. Lane

San Francisco’s unique chill comes slowly in from the ocean. It arrives on an otherwise sunny day and shrouds the city in mist, hiding even well known landmarks, making them distant and cold to us. That happens to Isabelle in `No Alibi’. The cold creeps in, and soon not even the truth looks familiar.   –  Joel Kirkpatrick
