Here’s the set-up:

Emily McGinn, a recurring character from Where Secrets Lie, believes she knows exactly who she is and where she belongs in the world, until she receives an inheritance from an unknown benefactor. Uncovering the source of the inheritance leads Emily to discover buried truths undermining what she thought was a straightforward life. As the truths alter Emily’s perception of the people closest to her, her perception of herself shifts as well.

Set in the unique foothills community of Boulder, Colorado and its environs, Whoever You Are questions not only how we define ourselves, but also how we define family and whether we bear any responsibility for the actions of those who came before us.

Here’s the set-up:

The next right thing is the only choiceCammie Copello gets results—even if it means stretching the rules. That’s what makes her a great private investigator. It’s also what caused the little breach between her and attorney Marc Hamilton. It’s too bad, because they made a great team. And, honestly, her career hasn’t been the same since.

So imagine her surprise when Marc shows up begging for her help with a personal case. When he turns on the charm…well, she can’t refuse. But she can keep her attraction to Marc a secret—regardless of how tempting he is. Her intentions are put to the test, however, when he proves that the attraction is not one-sided!

Editorial Reviews

“A heart-warming family story set against the razzle-dazzle of Vegas. Private investigator Cammie Copello is charming and fearless!” ~USA Today Best-selling Author Cassie Miles

“Colorful, skillful description and lively, fully fleshed-out characters contribute to this great read.” ~RT Book Reviews

“I absolutely had to read THE NEXT RIGHT THING in one sitting…THE NEXT RIGHT THING is definitely an exciting page turner you don’t want to miss!” ~Kay Quintin, Fresh Fiction

From the Author

In The Next Right Thing, I created a female protagonist, Cammie Copello, who is near to my heart because we both work as private investigators.  I well understand what it is like to have your heart in your throat as you’re crawling underneath a vehicle to attach a GPS device in broad daylight, or how convenient it is to use smartphone apps for certain tasks, such as capturing “the bad guy’s” activities using a motion-detector video app.

The hero, Marc Hamilton, is a Denver high-profile lawyer who Cammie once worked for…that is, until she waded into the gray area one time too many.  But now his career depends on her helping him out, and Cammie must decide what is the next right thing to do.  A decision all the more difficult because she has been secretly in love with Marc for years.
Hope you enjoy The Next Right Thing, which is available in print and ebook.  I’m currently working on its sequel, tentatively titled Lost and Found, and which features another female private eye in Sin City.  Look for Lost and Found in November 2013!

“Freak of Nature is a refreshing read, because it doesn’t truly fit the mold of a particular genre. It has romance, action, science, and suspense. Julia Crane’s writing has matured so much and it is truly shown in her new book.” ~examiner.com
