“This ebook made me want to sing.” – (youtube.com/watch?v=vKvqnYAHQws) Mick Silva, former editor Waterbrook Multnomah Publishing Group.

“I seldom read a non-fiction from cover to cover, especially in just a couple of days, but I not only examined every piece of it, I pulled out my manuscript and took her advice to heart in a complete revision. Anyone interested in writing for publication should read this book!” – Marji Clubine, writer

“Mary’s passion for writing and encouragement find their way onto every page. I would like to see the book in hard copy so pertinent portions can be highlighted for future reference.” – Sharron Cosby, writer

“It is true that the road to publication is a rather bumpy one, but in her book, 11 Secrets of Getting Published, Mary DeMuth smooths the way for writers by showing them how to: Write nekkid, kill the adverbs, know editors, find story ideas, write great queries and proposals, as well as a heap of other writing tips to enhance the overall process.
With 11 Secrets to Getting Published, and a lot of “hard, hard work,” the path to professional publication may be closer than you think.” – Olsonwriter

From The Author

This is the first book I’ve written about my passion: writing. I’ve spent over 20 years in the profession, first writing miles and miles of unpublished words, finding my voice. Then, eventually, I started climbing the hill of publication. My journey hasn’t been simple, but it has been invigorating and fun.

One thing I learned early in the journey is that it’s nearly impossible to find out the ins and outs of traditional publishing by yourself. I’ve learned the long and hard way. This book is my gift to you so you don’t have to navigate the minefields I did.

This book isn’t simply about getting published by a traditional publishing house, though. If you hope to self publish, the bulk of this book trains you how to be a better and more effective (and compelling) writer. If you’re a blogger, a wanna-be ebook writer, or you’d like to have a big publishing house award you with a contract, this book will help you get there.

It’s my hope that these 11 secrets will change you–not only the way you write, but how you view your profession and anticipate the future.

Another important note is this: This book is over 60,000 words, the size of a full length nonfiction book. You will certainly get your money’s worth!

Writing with joy,
Mary DeMuth

About The Author

I’m a freelance writer and novelist living in Texas with my husband of nineteen years and my three wonderful children.

I have been writing since 1992, first as a newsletter editor, then as a freelance writer, followed by a fiction and nonfiction author. My articles have appeared in Marriage Partnership, In Touch, HomeLife, Discipleship Journal, Pray!, Bon Appetit, Kindred Spirit, The Writer, and Writer’s Digest. For two years I penned a lifestyle column for Star Community Newspapers in Dallas (circulation 100,000). My books include Ordinary Mom, Extraordinary God (Harvest House, 2005), Building the Christian Family You Never Had (WaterBrook, 2006), Watching the Tree Limbs, Wishing on Dandelions (NavPress, both novels releasing in 2006), Authentic Parenting in a Postmodern Culture (Harvest House, 2006), Daisy Chain, A Slow Burn (Zondervan 2009), Life in Defiance (Zondervan 2010), Thin Places: A Memoir (Zondervan 2010), 150 Quick Questions to Get Your Kids Talking (Harvest House 2011), You Can Raise Confident and Courageous Kids (Harvest House, 2001) and The Muir House (Zondervan 2011).

I’m more than my books. I love to cook, try my hand (body!) at triathlons, have a nose ring, and am passionate about singing.

I love to help people overcome a difficult past and blog about it five times a week at http://www.marydemuth.com. My facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/authormarydemuth and you can follow me on twitter at http://www.twitter.com/marydemuth

One Reviewer Notes:

“Mary DeMuth is one of those authors who truly knows how to engage her audience. When you read “11 Secrets of Getting Published” it’s almost like you’re sitting down having a conversation with her. Not to say that the book’s not meaty, because it is. Just about everything a fledgling author needs to know is here: learning the craft, dealing with rejection, insights into the publishing industry, how to market, tips for conferences, and more. While this book is awesome for those who have yet to publish, it’s also great for those who already have a few books on the shelves. We can always use inspiration and encouragement, and this book is full of both. I particularly like “Quick Writing Advice”, which is one of three bonus sections. ”
