Here’s the set-up:

A.I.: Artificial Intelligence. Even today, machines that mimic human thinking surround us. As the intellectual feats of computing machines grow more and more astounding, will there be a day when their apparent intelligence approaches, or even surpasses, that of human beings? And what if these machines then become conscious, self-aware?

In this latest title in the acclaimed Future Chronicles series of speculative fiction anthologies, thirteen authors confront the question of the Singularity: at and beyond that point of time when A.I. becomes more than simply a human construct. From first awareness to omniscience, these original short stories explore that territory where human intelligence comes face-to-face with what is either its greatest hope, or its greatest threat.

The A.I. Chronicles features stories by bestselling author David Simpson (the Post-Human series), Prix Aurora winner Julie Czerneda (In the Company of Others), Amazon Kindle Scout sensation Peter Cawdron (Anomaly) plus ten more of today’s top authors in speculative and science fiction.

5-star Amazon review:

“My mind is blown. How can so much talent be compressed into one volume without creating some sort of seismic event? That’s how I felt after finishing the A.I. Chronicles. The imagination and creativity expressed in these stories kept me shaking my head and mouthing “wow” more than once.”

Reviews

“Two Moons of Sera, or 2MOS as Tyler refers to it, is a delightful read. Although written in words, 2MOS leaves me feeling as though I’m being carried along through the story on the wind of a song. It feels lyrical and fluid, those feelings heightened by the sea-side setting.” –Michele Stefanides Author of Tales From Shrimps“It isn’t often that I am swept into the current of a story as quickly as I was with Pavarti K. Tyler’s Two Moons of Sera…Being an impatient reader, I would not normally choose a serial novel; however, if the subsequent volumes are as well-written and attention-grabbing as this one, it would be worth the wait.” –Dannye Williamsen Author of Second Chances and The Threads That Bind

“This is a great start to what I am sure will be an amazing serial Novel. I loved the world Sera lives in and how we are learning about it through her eyes along with her. By the sounds of it, Sera’s world is only going to get more complex and wonderful as she discovers her place in it. I am very fond of Sera. Although is raised in a very sheltered way, her world literally stops at the edge of the beach, she is a strong willed, adventurous woman and I can’t wait to see her character develop.” –James Crawford Author of Caleo

Here’s the set-up:

Recai Osman: Muslim, philosopher, billionaire and Superhero?

Controversial and daring, Shadow on the Wall details the transformation of Recai Osman from complicated man to Superhero. Forced to witness the cruelty of the Morality Police in his home city of Elih, Turkey, Recai is called upon by the power of the desert to be the vehicle of change. Does he have the strength to answer Allah’s call or will his dark past and self doubt stand in his way?

Pulling on his faith in Allah, the friendship of a Jewish father-figure and a deeply held belief that his people deserve better, Recai Osman must become The SandStorm.

In the tradition of books by Margaret Atwood and Salman Rushdie, Shadow on the Wall tackles issues of religion, gender, corruption and the basic human condition. Beautiful and challenging, this is not a book to miss.

Reviews

I received a copy of Pavarti K Tyler’s new book entitled “Shadow on the Wall” to review. What I will say to you is this. Buy it. Read it. It was wonderful. Not only was it a page turner that I read in one sitting (something I have not done in a few years), the story lines were well constructed and the dots all amazingly connected. —Naif Al-Mutawa of the99.org

Pavarti K Tyler’s Shadow on the Wall, her first book in The SandStorm Chronicles, is a delicious read even as it exposes themes that are difficult to grapple with. Her beautiful and vivid prose places us in a world where we forget ourselves and fall into her characters we love them, we hate them, we understand them, and we are mystified by them. Even as Shadow transports us, once we step back into ourselves we are left thinking about her real-world depictions of religious motivations, corruption, fear, tenacity, and hope. –Jessica Swift Eldridge, editor, publishing consultant, founder of Swift Ink Editorial Services

From the moment I read the first sentence, I could not stop until I finished reading. As an Arab Muslim, I found it refreshing, to finally have someone sharing my cultural background to not be a “terrorist”, but be an actual “hero”. The imperfections of his character are what made him believable to me. We are not perfect, no one is, but he took his imperfections & became a hero for the people, instead of a suicide bomber. If anything, I see him as a metaphor for redemption, I am extremely excited to follow these Chronicles. I have always used to say that “Batman” was my favorite superhero, I have no doubt from this point on, my #1 answer will be “The SandStorm”. —Mosno Al-Moseeki
