Great characters and the plot moves quickly through many twists and turns. I love the mixture of real world and fantasy. If you haven't read the first book, what are you waiting for? A thoroughly enjoyable read from a talented author.

Six years have passed since the intervention of the Man-Lion, a creature
in the likeness of the Sphinx, and the quantum computer, in human
affairs. But trouble is brewing once again for Jack Wheeler and the

city of Atlantis for straying from the anointed path, the Man-Lion
dispatches the Sphere of Ra to warn Jack about the approaching danger.
The object, discovered inside a bolder in the Drakensberg mountains of
South Africa by archeologist and rock-painting expert Dr. Kobus van
Niekerk, seems to confirm various predictions doing the rounds that the
earth will be destroyed by a super solar flare on 31 March 2014.
Jack
tries to prevent the catastrophe by assembling the same team involved
in the bizarre events initiated by Project Scarab years previously.
But
in finding and rebooting the quantum computer, Jack inadvertently opens
wormhole to a parallel universe, which allows something dark and
sinister to slip through into ours.

This book has me hooked... The overall story structure is sublime.
Character development is superlative and at no point was I taken out of the moment.
Once it hooks you, it doesn't let go. Another enjoyable reading experience.
If you have not read Scarab one, I suggest you do so, as both books are extremely well written and more importantly entertaining.
I will continue to follow this self established author as he long as he continues to write.
