Here’s the set-up:

It was as if one remote controlled every TV set in America when we tuned in to The Ed Sullivan Show every Sunday night for decades–from 1948 to 1971.  The most famous moment came in February 1964 when the Beatles appeared for the first time, but Michael Harris brings you right on stage — and back stage — for that show and many other really big shows and really telling backstories from Sullivan’s humble beginnings to his many triumphs in the 50s and 60s.

Harris, bestselling author of The Atomic Times , combines a storyteller’s gifts with a remarkable research and years of direct experience working with Sullivan to share a rare insider’s view of what may have been the most important entertainment program in America during commercial television’s first quarter century.

“One of the most intriguing show business books to come along in a long time.  It’s great, very well written and tells it like it is.  I knew Sullivan for years and consider Harris’ book an accurate sketch of a complex man.  Well done!” — Chicago Sun Times

“Honestly told …with remarkable frankness and genuine inside knowledge.  In the field of show business biographies, Always On Sunday has secured a place on the shelf reserved for the very best.” — Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Our Kindle eBook of the Day: Bradley Convissar’s DOGS OF WAR – 4.7 Stars and just 99 cents on Kindle – Here’s a free sample!

Here’s the set-up for Bradley Convissar’s Dogs Of War, just 99 Cents on Kindle:

After divorcing his wife of two years, Gary Lettner thinks he has found the perfect house for himself and Molly, his eight-year-old daschund.

But when the throats of the dead begin to cry out in a voice that only Molly can hear, and when evidence of past atrocities committed in his new home begin to surface, Gary finds himself an unlikely participant in a brutal quest for vengeance.

Dogs of War is a brutal, heart-wrenching ghost story that explores a world that thrives in the darkness.

From the reviewers:

If you enjoy ghost stories and have the need to be frightened by written word then here is your chance. This is a well thought out story and has a scare at every turn. Was truly impressed and can not wait to read more by this author. — Albert Robbins III

…a literal paranormal dog story, with chilling and sometimes gruesome details, and very poignant characterization of Molly the wiener dog.–Penumbra Publishing

All in all, DOGS OF WAR is a well-written ghost story that drags the reader into a feeling of comfort before stabbing him or her in the heart with horror. –Benjamine X. Writland

I grew up in NJ, spent four years in New Orleans earning my degree in evolutionary biology, then returned to NJ for dental school. I currently live in NJ with my wife, two children, and diabetic Daschund who has developed premature cataracts (a temperamental, partly blind dog and two children don’t mix very well).–Bradley Convissar

KND Kindle Free Book Alert, Saturday, June 18: 7 BRAND NEW FREEBIES added to over 800 FREE TITLES, Sortable by Category! plus … Mike Dennis’s BLOODSTAINS ON THE WALL (Today’s Sponsor, 4.8 Stars and just $0.99)

Powered by our magical Kindle free book tool, here are this morning’s latest additions to our 500+ Kindle Free Book listings….

But first, a word from … Today’s Sponsor

We’re not saying Mike Dennis is the next Joe Konrath, because he’s absolutely one of a kind … but he’s definitely worthy of a “Scary Saturday” … with a dash of Bukowski and Willeford thrown in … so turn on all the lights and lock the doors….

From the author who’s putting Key West on the “noir” map, three dark, suspenseful short stories that are face-paced and scary as hell…

BLOODSTAINS ON THE WALL / Three Stories From The Dark Side
by Mike Dennis

Bloodstains on the Wall is a collection of three short stories, each following a different, completely amoral character. Each short story was beautifully written, and deliciously dark.”

–Kiki Deister

Also by Mike Dennis:

Here’s the set-up:

From the other side of the human condition comes this collection of noir tales by Mike Dennis.

1. FULLY LOADED
It’s 1984 and Biloxi, Mississippi has seen better days. Sherry Lamar, used car saleswoman extraordinaire, is feeling the pinch. Then one day, a stranger walks onto her small car lot and ushers her into a world of steamy sex and murder.

2. THE DEVIL DRIVES A BIG MERCEDES
A seven-year-old boy is playing with his two younger sisters when a minor accident occurs. One of the sisters is to blame, but she blames the boy and their mother believes her, punishing the boy. This starts him on a downward spiral into self-doubt and later, depravity, that will last his entire life.

3. BLOCK
A famous crime fiction novelist thinks the current book she’s working on will revive her sagging fortunes. Halfway through it, however, she develops writer’s block and is unable to continue her story, until a mysterious early-morning phone caller claims to have the answers.

One Reviewer Notes:

“Enter the ‘noir’ mind of Mike Dennis and you’re in another zone, an area where you suspend disbelief. These three entertaining short stories are eerie in inspiration, spare and terse in their language, and brilliantly original in concept. “Block” especially blew my mind. While fresh and original, it had a Rod Serling feel to it that had me humming the theme from The Twilight Zone. I can’t wait to read more stories quarried from the dark side of this guy’s mind. Move over Steven King.

–Walter Schmida

About the Author

After thirty years as a professional musician (piano), Mike Dennis left Key West and moved to Las Vegas in 2006 to become a professional poker player, but turned to writing when his first novel was published. He has since published the first novel of a noir trilogy which lifts the veil on Key West, revealing it as a true noir city, on a par with Los Angeles, New Orleans, or Miami. BLOODSTAINS ON THE WALL is his collection of three short stories from the dark side.

When Lee Tucker’s husband commits suicide, he leaves her pregnant and a million dollars in debt to a loan shark. She gets a fresh start – and much more – in our Kindle eBook of the Day, Tess Hardwick’s RIVERSONG – 4.7 Stars and just $2.99 on Kindle!

Here’s the set-up for Tess Hardwick’s Riversong, 4.7 Stars and just $2.99 on Kindle:

When Lee Tucker’s husband commits suicide, he leaves her pregnant and one million dollars in debt to a loan shark. Out of options, she escapes to her deceased mother’s dilapidated house located in a small Oregon town that, like her, is financially ruined, heartbroken and in desperate need of a fresh start.

Lee’s resilience leads to a plan for a destination restaurant named Riversong, to new chances for passion and love, and to danger from her dead husband’s debt as her business blooms.

Author Tess Hardwick assembles a colorful cast of endearing small-town characters and takes you on a journey that will make you believe in the possibilities of life – even in the face of overwhelming adversity and unimaginable grief. Lee Tucker is the kind of woman you find yourself rooting for long after the last page is read.

A surprising mix of romance, humor, friendship, intrigue and gourmet food – Riversong entertains while reminding you of life’s greatest gifts.

From the reviewers:

Riversong is a remarkable debut novel for Tess Hardwick. This warm-hearted, compelling book is an enveloping saga of human resilience. Hardwick’s real achievement is her knack for storytelling – she has carved her story with vivid grace and crafted a superbly plotted, and compulsively readable tale that triumphs. In short, Riversong is an inspiration. Tess Hardwick is a delightful new voice in fiction – one that is well worth listening to. –Natalie

The story was simply engaging, creating a world in which I was able to delightfully lose myself. I found the storyline to be quite empowering and hopeful, as it encapsulated a world filled with struggles and redemption.–Teresa P. Miller

I usually read action/adventure stories so I thought this would be a genuine “chick” book. My initial reaction was a guy’s off-the cuff review that “it could have used some guns, a car chase, danger and sex…” Then I realized, it had each one of those! I was pleasantly surprised that it was well crafted and engaging. –John Murphy

Tess Hardwick is a playwright and novelist. She started her artistic pursuits as an actress and director before writing her first play in 2000, which won the first place prize at Burien New Works in 2001.

Like her main character in Riversong, Tess Hardwick grew up in a small town in Oregon. She studied theatre at the University of Southern California and graduated in 1991 with a BFA in Drama. After college, she moved to Seattle where she met her husband when she was his HR Manager at a local technical company. She now lives in Snoqualmie, Washington with her husband, two small daughters and teenage step-son.

Riversong is her debut novel.  Contact her at: tesshardwick.author@gmail.com

Rebellion Trilogy

Five Star Review

“Ryan is well known for his political intrigue novels and vast knowledge of political and military tactics. Fast and enthralling…”

–Jenny Hansen, Meridian Magazine

Here’s the set-up:

THE REBELLION TRILOGY contains three full length novels. Each novel is also available individually.

STATE OF REBELLION: With a growing economy exceeding that of many third world nations, but saddled with a bankrupt treasury, an independent Republic of California could become a major economic and political player on the world stage. When the Western Patriot Movement becomes involved, insurrection is at hand and open rebellion erupts. America is no longer the land our Founding Fathers intended.

UNCIVIL LIBERTIES: On inauguration day, 2013, President Clay Cumberland assumes office and is immediately advised that a hijacked commercial airliner is headed for Washington D.C. He has only two choices: allow the plane to choose its target and potentially kill thousands of people on the ground, or authorize the Air Force to shoot down a civilian airliner and kill 350 innocent people. Either answer could end his presidency.

TO FAITHFULLY EXECUTE
: Domestic terrorism, both imported and home grown, is unchecked in the streets of America following a nuclear attack on western water sources. General Pug Connor is invited to New Zealand to meet with the ultra secret Cloister, an international group of former world leaders who are intent on changing the course of history.

One Reviewer Notes:

“Once you finish the first book in the series, you won’t be able to resist the other two. Good ahead and purchase the full set, you won’t be disappointed. These are well-written timely novels and will hold your interest. Once you start, you won’t be able to put them down until you finish all three.” –D. Jetton
