Schuh creates complex characters and raw dialogue. This is a fast paced novel where redemption is found on the saddle of a Harley.
--Garry Ryan, author of the Detective Lane mysteries
Here's the set-up:
Katrina is thirteen, wealthy, grieving, and alone. But she is more than that. She's intelligent, beautiful, and intrigued by the dangers of street life. Shrug's a giant of a man with a voice of thunder and eyes of granite. He has tattoos, The Traz gang patch, and a motorbike. When he asks Katrina if she wants a ride, she makes a decision that will change her life forever. Katrina quickly discovers the violent side of life on The Traz compound. However, there is no way for her to escape until she meets Chad—an undercover cop with rich brown eyes, a gentle chuckle, and a plan to rescue Katrina from the clutches of the gang. However, there's a problem. Somebody is keeping dangerous secrets from them both. THE TRAZ is as daring, raw, and spirited as the young heroine. It’s exhilarating entertainment but it also contains a vital message for those on the cusp of maturity and for the adults who guide them.
One Reviewer Notes:
Wow! What an awesome find! As a provisional psychologist working with youth & teens in various northern Alberta group homes, I found this book to be an amazingly insightful story paralleling so many youth I work with. Schuh does a wonderful job tapping into the emotions and psyche of the troubled teen. Sharing stories is a basic of psychology, and this book is a great tool in connecting with and engaging teens to share their stories. Bravo!

Kindle Nation Daily Bargain Book Alert: Kat Flannery’s CHASING CLOVERS is our eBook of the Day at just $2.99, with 5.0 Stars on 2 Reviews, and Here’s a Free Sample

Here’s the set-up for Kat Flannery’s Chasing Clovers, just $2.99 on Kindle:

Mail order bride, Livy Green, is desperate to escape the memories of her past. John Taylor will never love another woman again, but his children need a mother. Will they learn to trust each other, or will their pasts interfere?

Longing to escape the awful memories and the saloon she once sang in, Livy Green lies about her past so she can be a wife to John Taylor and mother to his two young children. Overwhelmed by the task, she struggles to put her resentment aside and love them as her own.

John loved his first wife and is still heartbroken over the loss, but he needs a mother for his children. When his distant and unfriendly mail order bride arrives, he begins to doubt his decision.  One glance into Livy’s terrified green eyes tells him he can’t turn his back on her.

As Livy’s past catches up with her and suspicious accidents begin to happen on the ranch, she is tempted to come clean and tell John the truth. But will he send her back if she does? Or will they forever be CHASING CLOVERS?

From the reviewers:

“A compelling story line. A combination of suspense, tension and romance will keep you turning the page until the end.” —Michelle Ferguson, author of From Away

“Everything I wanted in a Historical Romance was in this story…Any romance aficionado will love this book and this author.” —Tammy Gaines, NovelOpinion

This book was a wonderful read. It is about a young mail order bride who has a colorful history and finds it very hard to tell her husband-to-be the truth. The setting is near beautiful Calgary, Alberta, includes suspense, murder and romance. I read the book in two evenings and found it very hard to put down. It is a fast-paced and suspense-filled story and leaves you wanting more. The characters come alive and it is very easy to loose yourself in this book. I will definitely be looking for more books from this author.  Debbra Winkleman

This story has everything from romance, history, suspense, and drama all in one. The characters are vivid and colourful, with relevant issues current to the time period they live in. Mail order bride, Livy Green is stuck in a predicament when she lies to her soon-to-be husband about her shady past. I could not put this book down until the last page. This author weaves an emotion tale, wrought with lies, deceit, hope, and love. I will definitely read another Kat Flannery novel! – Dawn Beaton

Here’s the set-up:

Life after prison was already going badly for Billy Fargo, and that was before he found out he’s the skeleton in a very important person’s closet.

When Billy Fargo walks out of prison he’s determined to take revenge on the man who framed him. But before he can, he’s back in trouble with the law. This time it’s a double murder charge. Living on the outside is hard, but why is it getting harder?

Private eye Ricky Willmar is dead set on finding out, but after connecting the dots he’s shocked at what he learns. There’s somebody out there on the verge of something huge and he’s not about to let a bottom-feeder like Fargo get in his way.

Fargo always said he’d rather die than go back to prison. He never thought those would be his only choices.

Julia Buckley’s irresistible reporter returns only months after solving her first mystery in the 5-star series debut Madeline Mann! Joanna’s death is ten years in the past, but Moira has been troubled by dreams of her young friend, and she is convinced that Joanna was murdered.

Having heard of Madeline’s investigative skills, Moira asks her to look into Joanna’s death and find out if a murderer still lurks in the town of Webley, and if the dark secrets behind the death of a nun have somehow placed other people in danger.

From the reviewers:

From Cornelia Read, author of THE CRAZY SCHOOL:  “Julia Buckley’s character Madeline Mann is witty, brave, smart as a whip, and . . . downright cool.”

From Barbara D’Amato, author of the Cat Marsala mysteries :  “Reporter Madeline “Madman” Mann is a great character: smart, warm, witty, and just wacky enough for spice.”

From Hope McIntyre, author of the HOW TO MARRY A GHOST series:  “Welcome to Webley, Illinois, the background to this refreshing new mystery series. Madeline Mann could do anything and I would still want to read about her. She’s warm, engaging, and fun–and the same goes for Julia Buckley’s writing.”
