Here’s the set-up:

Three children with the powers of Stone, Sea and Sky…
Are all that stands between the world and the chaotic power of the Abyss.

Fen is only a boy when his city is sacked by enemy invaders. His mother is cut down before his eyes. Yet somehow, when the blade is turned on him, he survives without a scratch. But the attack seems to have awakened something inside him, something that killed his father years ago.

Aislin came from the sea, her origins a mystery. Within her is an innate power over water, as natural as breathing. But she lives in a world of her own, emotionally isolated from everyone else, including the woman who is raising her. Bullied by the other children, one day she turns her power on them.

Karliss was touched by the wind at birth, destined to be the greatest wind shaman his people have ever seen. But he is careless with his power and he ignores the warnings about the madness that afflicts those who don’t protect themselves against the spirits in the wind.

When the powerful, inhuman denizens of the Abyss reach out to take the world, only these three have a chance of stopping them, but only if they can learn to master their powers in time…

It’s a suicide mission with only one purpose. The king wants Wulf Rome dead.
When General Wulf Rome gets his orders to chase the marauders into the fiery hell of the Gur al Krin desert, he knows the king has finally decided to eliminate his too-popular general. What he doesn’t count on is causing the apocalypse.

Somehow Wulf Rome survives both the marauders and the desert, but he ends up in a lost catacomb deep beneath the desert sands, where he finds a strange axe embedded in a massive, ancient wall. When he pulls it free, he unleashes a nightmare of epic proportions.

Now it looks like the apocalypse has come. Monsters and diseases plague the land. There is no defense, no enemy even to strike against.

Out of the chaos a mysterious stranger calling himself Lowellin appears. Lowellin claims to be immortal. He claims to be the world’s only hope. But the weapons he offers the land’s beleaguered defenders are dangerous and chaotic and Wulf Rome soon begins to doubt his true motives.

Thus does immortality sow the seeds of chaos…

Of course, my Shannon wouldn’t care if I slid a giant hard-candy ring on her finger instead of a three-carat diamond designed to impress.

Reviews:

What a fun and timely book from Eric T. Knight! This book was an adventure ride with a twisty plot, crazy characters and descriptive language which made my imagination run wild. I very much enjoyed picturing the locations and scenarios, and often felt that this could make for a great guilty-pleasure movie. The pace is quite fast and Eric has many clever, hidden references, (i.e. check out the captain’s name) which made me laugh and think. Looking forward to reading everything else he has written!– Five Star Amazon Review

I LOVED THIS BOOK. The characters were so easy to relate to; even crazy Santiago. I truly disliked Tamara even though I understood her. I started reading and only stopped when I fell asleep. Talented you are Mr. Knight.” – Five Star Amazon Review
