Here’s the set-up:

MEMOIR MEETS THRILLER: Set against a 1969 psychedelic love-in backdrop, The Girl From Long Guyland is shared through the eyes of Laila Levin when decades later, an unsolved murder pulls her reluctantly into her past. A dramatic collision of then and now — entwining family, marriage, profession and ethics.

Laila enjoys a successful marriage and a thriving career as an I.T. executive in Austin, Texas, but she can’t quite shake her lifelong sense of not truly belonging anywhere.

When her company announces a major layoff, Laila finds herself caught between an unscrupulous CEO and her promiscuous boss. Then news of her college roommate’s suicide stirs up a dark secret involving three devious friends from her past. One has betrayed a vow, another wants to rekindle their romance, and the third is out for revenge.

Suddenly for Laila, it’s 1969 again. She’s only seventeen, and she’s left her sheltered home in Long Island for college in Connecticut. Amid protests of the Vietnam War, she’s tempted by the sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll that rule her generation. Laila gets swept up in a deceptive love triangle with two older locals and initiated into their unethical hippie family. Too late she realizes her search to belong has led to tragedy.

Laila must now juggle the demands of her perplexed husband and her baby boomer past forcing her to make choices that endanger her survival and challenge her conscience.

She learns that the lines between right and wrong are often blurred, and sometimes you have to risk everything to be true to yourself.

Here’s the set-up:

ILL-FATED OMEN

Blessed or perhaps cursed to see visions of disaster, she was branded a harbinger of misfortune and banished from her homeland. Ill-prepared by her genteel upbringing among the Elvenfolk, Arshé found herself struggling to survive in a frightening world she knew nothing about. Then a chance meeting with an ambitious stranger reverses her fortunes completely. Discovering the love and acceptance long denied her and allowed the opportunity to use her unique talents of foresight, nothing on Remnas seems out of reach as they amass power and riches together until a shattering betrayal leaves their dreams in ruin and Arshé alone and surrounded by enemies.

A MAN DESTINED TO BE KING

Rekki the Black, warrior without equal, was prophesied at birth to become King of the Ogres, uniting the warring kingdoms of his people under a single ruler. Entrusted with a perilous mission that will end him or put him one step closer to fulfilling his destiny, he takes one look at Arshé and recognizes her as the woman foretold to rule at his side. Winning Arshé’s reluctant heart may prove an even greater task than recovering the pieces of a legendary armor from the four corners of the world. As Arshé joins him on the quest, both Rekki’s mettle and devotion will be put to the test because their journey will take them into the heart of Arshé’s homeland, a place that means death for the both of them.

Release!: A Walker Brothers Novel (The Walker Brothers Book 1)

by J. S. Scott

Here’s the set-up:

Author Note: Although this series is loosely connected to The Billionaire’s Obsession series, it stands alone and can be read without reading The Billionaire’s Obsession series. But this is a steamy alpha billionaire romance, so skip it if you dislike sensual romance and explicit language.

****Includes The Billionaire’s Obsession ( complete Simon & Kara’s story) as a bonus***

Trace and Eva’s story:

My name is Eva Morales, and I was one step away from being homeless when Trace Walker came into my life. I want to hate him because of my past, but I end up making what I consider a “devil’s bargain” with the arrogant young billionaire instead. Really, I have no choice. It’s either take the work he’s offering or starve, and I’ve been hungry long enough.

I didn’t think being his fake fiancee for the holidays would be a difficult job, but it ends up more complicated than I ever imagined, and I see a whole new side of Trace once he lets his guard down. He’s haunted by his past–just like me, But there are things I can never tell him, secrets I don’t dare reveal.

Eventually, I find myself in a difficult situation because our volatile attraction to each other won’t be denied. Should I tell him the truth, or do I finish the job he’s paying me for and walk away with my secrets still hidden, my pride still intact? He’s paying me enough for this job to take care of myself once it’s over. I’ve always been alone, and I always thought I preferred it…until I met Trace. I’d have to put everything on the line to be honest with him, but he very well might be the first man who is worth the risk. Honestly, I’d be endangering more than just my pride. I could handle feeling like a loser, because I’ve pretty much felt that way my entire life. What really terrifies me is being vulnerable and the possibility of ending up with a shattered heart….
