One big surprise

Everyone in town knew Caroline and Charlie just weren’t meant for each other. Like oil and water or chalk and cheese, the ex-Navy cook and the beautiful shop owner were a bad match, and although the small New Jersey town was filled with inveterate matchmakers, even the most determined of the lot had to admit this was one match that would never happen. But nobody had figured on Caroline and Charlie getting locked in a storage vault with an automatic timer set for the next morning . . .And Caroline and Charlie definitely hadn’t figured on the little surprise they got a few months later when they discovered there was a baby on the way!Caroline is sure she can handle everything alone but Charlie has other ideas: a modern marriage of convenience! At first there isn’t anything convenient about living with the all-male Charlie Donohue but before long Caroline’s defenses are down and her husband-in-name-only is sharing her bed.Is there even the slightest chance this marriage of inconvenience could turn into the real thing?(Originally published in print by Harlequin American)

5-Star Amazon Review

“This book was not only amazingly passionate but charmingly cute. The story wove you into the true heart of Caroline and Charles love story. The author did a splendid job writing this and her character development was very well done.”

If you wanted to destroy something, why would you want to save it too?
A storm is brewing in the all-but-forgotten back country of Kentucky. And, for young Orbie Ray, the swirling heavens may just have the power to tear open his family’s darkest secrets. Nine-year-old Orbie already has his cross to bear. After the sudden death of his father, his mother Ruby has off and married his father’s co-worker and friend Victor, a slick-talking man with a snake tattoo. And, when Orbie crosses paths with the black Choctaw preacher, Moses Mashbone, he learns of a power that could expose and defeat his enemies, but can’t be used for revenge. When a storm of unusual magnitude descends Orbie stumbles on a solution to the paradox, one both magical and ordinary. Question is, will it be enough?

Violence & Magical Realism

Orbie renders events from a child’s vividly fragmented point of view. His growth in understanding and courage – as he confronts first hand the realities of civil rights violations, domestic and child sexual abuse, religious violence and even murder – can be felt throughout the book.

A feeling of otherworldliness permeates the story, and its symbolism is omnipresent and beautifully handled. Realism becomes magical, as nothing is ever precisely what it seems.

Sex Addiction & Abandonment

Orbie’s mother, a susceptible woman, quickly remarries, leaving Orbie and his younger sister at the mercy of Victor, who resolves to leave him at his sharecropping grandparent’s place, a dirt farm in Kentucky, while the family sets off for Florida.

With no end to his stay in sight, Orbie settles into routines all but unthinkable weeks before. He forms a strong bond with Willis, the stunningly talented, physically disabled black boy and protege to the uncanny shaman, Moses Mashbone.

Boy Meets World

Inevitably, he finds himself drawn into Moses’ teachings. As he begins to tap his own mysterious powers, his mother and stepfather return, throwing his world back into chaos. Can he discover the truth about his father’s death in time to protect all he holds dear? And can he do it without being damaged by his own hatred and violence?

Dogs are smarter than we think.

Has your dog ever surprised you by doing something you said the first time? You are not alone! Here are 50 stories about amazing dogs who understood what their humans said. Some even saved lives in the process!

Chloe the golden Beagle braved a hurricane to obey the new command, “I need Dad, Girl.”
Ellie the Coonhound helped her human family escape from an angry bear by obeying the new command, “Get it!”
When her human brother said jokingly, “Maybe Cocoa could dig again and find it,” Cocoa did just that!

From The Author

One night after we had cleaned up slobbery grass off the living-room carpet, I was making dinner. Some canned green beans spilled onto the kitchen floor, and Raffle walked right by them. He wasn’t doing his job of keeping the kitchen floor cleaned of food spills. I said to him,

“Oh, so you’ll eat grass, but you won’t eat green beans, eh?”

Of course I wasn’t expecting a response, but I just about fainted when Raffle came over and gobbled up the green beans! He understood what I said!

Instinctively, I knew Raffle couldn’t be the only dog who ever acted on something his human said but had never taught him. There are fifty great stories in this book. Some of the dogs saved lives. Some just did silly things. Some are really funny stories. Others are just cute. All of them demonstrate how dogs are man’s best friend. I hope you enjoy all the stories and share them with your family and friends.

5 Star Amazon Reviews
“… Kelley uses an engaging storyteller voice, pulling the reader into each short story. She highlights the magnificence of dogs and their role in people’s life. A wonderful story…”
“… This is a great book. Really liked the fact that there are lots of different species here. And different stories to book. Nicely done.”

The author truly put all he has into the book, and it felt so real. In my opinion it is on the same level as The Hunger Games. Fast-paced, tense, suspenseful, well-written, and kept me reading. Thumbs up!

Here's the set-up:
President Charles Taylor enjoys a life of wealth and privilege after the unprecedented terrorist attack carried out by people in his own retinue.

Aaron Rothfeld, the head of a mighty financial clan, uses the President as a pawn in a grandiose game for the ultimate power.

Rich, talented Zoe Stafford is blinded by the desire to avenge her mother, who was killed in the attack.

Zakhar, Zoe’s father and a veteran of the Soviet-Afghan war, is living out an empty, pointless life in which only hatred and violent reflexes remain.

Four different lives. Four strong, unconventional people. Their paths are destined to cross, leading them into a bloody war whose outcome could change the world.
One Reviewer Notes:
The book (both parts I and II) is easy to read. Easy, not in the sense that it is simply written or amateur, but in the sense that it flows smoothly from one page to the next. The writing grabs your attention from the beginning and doesn't let go until the very last page, at which point you think, 'wow.' The action, suspense and philosophical provocations make this a page-turner. Definite thumbs up!

Unlike my book, it wasn't proofread by a professional translator:). It took me about three years to write God's Memory, because I actually have a full-time job, which is extremely time-consuming. I work as a creative/art director for one of the biggest game development companies in the world. I love my job, it has allowed me to travel the world, speak in front of thousands of people, and develop as a person. It has also taught me a lot about writing, as all games have to have plots, characters, and trailers. But there is one thing that I have always dreamed of doing in addition to that: Writing a real book. Personally, I am not a big fan of cliche, predictable plots, dragons, wizards, or superheroes who can survive a nuclear blast, or outsmart entire governments. I know it sells well, and that's what people enjoy reading, but there are a lot of other people doing that, and doing it so well, that I don't think there is any room left on that market for someone like me. And anyway, I am rather a fan of classical literature, of writers like Maupassant and Tolstoy.
