Here’s the set-up:

LISTEN TO THE SHADOWS

SOMEONE WAS STALKING HER. NOW HE’S FOUND HER…

When artist Katie Summers emerged from a four-day coma, she remembered all too vividly the horror of that night – the terrifying dead eyes that had stared back at her in the rear view mirror, causing her to crash her car. But nobody believed her. Even the enigmatic and disturbingly attractive psychiatrist, Dr. Jonathan Shea, implied that she had made the whole thing up. Or dreamed it.

Released from the hospital, still weak from her ordeal, Katie took a taxi to her remote farmhouse on Black Lake. Darkness had already fallen. There was only the wind in the trees to greet her…and the cold and empty house.

But the house was not quite empty. Something awaited her, upstairs in her bedroom. Something with cold, dead eyes…

Here’s the set-up:

I present to you The Society of Forgotten Travellers.

This is a hilarious, rip-roaring adventure through time and the mind of Theodora Rigby.

Theodora Rigby has a problem. She went to a hypnotherapist to cure her claustrophobia in order to be able to fly to France and snag the man of her dreams. However, something went a little wrong. Drastically wrong in fact, and now she has ended up with her criminally insane great grandmother Cara’s consciousness in her head. If that wasn’t enough, she is being followed by a dangerous but handsome, time-travelling stranger wearing a 19th century frock coat and large floppy hat, called Chester.

Her grandmother is after a Mayan bracelet held in a new exhibition at a museum in London, and she wants to use Theo’s body to steal it. Theo is decidedly not happy about this, nor is she happy about the way her grandmother keeps taking over her body and dressing her in vastly girly attire and…make up!

The Delta Chain

by Iain Edward Henn

4.2 stars – 6 Reviews
Text-to-Speech and Lending: Enabled
Here’s the set-up:

The body of a young woman is washed ashore on a secluded beach. She does not fit the description of anyone on Missing Persons lists. Fingerprints, dental records and DNA provide no leads.

Detective Adam Bennett discovers a pattern of similar cases – unidentified bodies found along the coasts of Australia and the United States, and he is determined to solve the puzzle.

These are six young men and women who seem to have never existed.

When her brother meets a terrifying death in the wilderness, Kate Kovacs employs her IT skills to help track the killers. A baffling link is found between these two cases, leading Adam and Kate on a labyrinth trail to a scientific research centre, to a Washington power elite, and to a secret reaching back over thirty years to a war-ravaged Vietnam.

Ruthless forces are gathering, and they will stop at nothing to keep the secret hidden. Adam and Kate just became their targets…

THE DELTA CHAIN is a suspense thriller and an enigma with a scientific edge, combining murder and conspiracy that leads to an explosive climax..

Here's the set-up:
"Debut novelist Andy Holloman speeds us on a journey with punch, twist, and emotional dilemmas straight from our worst fears. Shades of Gray is a colorful, rollicking ride from start to finish."
- Franz Wisner, New York Times bestselling author of "Honeymoon with My Brother" and "How the World Makes Love"

In the Fall of 2001, John Manning's life is in turmoil. His six-year-old daughter Lucy needs a kidney transplant, and his travel agency is in financial distress because of the 9/11 tragedy. A lapse in his health insurance means he also has to quickly secure funds for his daughter's operation.

Wanda, a client of John's travel agency, is facing similar financial difficulties. Her livelihood as a drug dealer has also been hit hard by increased airport security. As a single parent, she wants to leave her dangerous profession and break free from her drug-lord boss Jamel, but a lack of funds has curtailed attempts to start a new life with her daughter.

Desperate times lead to desperate measures and John and Wanda form a partnership to smuggle cocaine via cruise ships. How far should a father go to save his child? Can a man and woman from completely different worlds help each other? Could they fall in love? And who will live to see the summer of 2002?
About the Author
Writer Andy Holloman has been scribbling stories since a young age. (According to reliable sources.) "Shades of Gray" is his first published novel and grew out of his experiences as a travel agency owner many moons ago. He was fascinated with the true story of a client of the business that was murdered. Suspecting her line of work was drug smuggling, a story sprouted in his over-active imagination - How far would a desperate person go to save their child and their business.

He is the father of three and happily married for 20 years. A graduate of UNC-CH, he lives in the Raleigh, NC area and is busy carpooling, keeping his wife happy, and attending his kids sporting events. He loves the great outdoors in NC, is an avid reader, and a social media goofball. Most evenings, he can be found tapping on his well-worn keyboard as he "births" his next novel.
Think “the sensory allure of Perfume meets the heartbreaking beauty of The Time Traveler’s Wife….”

Editorial Reviews

With its release date set for March 13, the advance reviews are already pouring in for Kindle Nation fave M.J. Rose’s THE BOOK OF LOST FRAGRANCES@

“Clever, with beguiling characters, a wonderful mixture of suspense and pace and good old fashioned storytelling.” –New York Times Bestseller, Kate Mosse

“Deliciously sensual…Rose imbues her characters with rich internal lives in a complex plot that races to a satisfying finish.” —Publisher’s Weekly (starred)

“A simmering brew that mingles the erotic sensuality of Patrick Suskind’s Perfume with the dark and timeless obsessions of Rider Haggard’s classic, She. M.J. Rose has once again again dipped into the deep flask of history and brought those rich aromas of the past back to life through the eyes of Jac L’Etoile, a woman who has mastered the scent of conflict, passion and danger.” —New York Times bestselling author Katherine Neville

“The Book of Lost Fragrances by M.J. Rose is an amazing novel, an utterly engrossing thriller that weaves together reincarnation, ancient Egypt, international intrigue, and a lost book of fragrances. Elegantly written, with unforgettable characters and flawlessly realized international settings, here is a novel that will keep you up all night—and leave you with powerful feelings of revelation, wonder, and the infinitude of human possibility.” —New York Times bestselling author Douglas Preston

“A bewitching brew of history and suspense, as well as a deeply felt love story that transcends time, The Book of Lost Fragrances had me spellbound from the very beginning, taking me from Ancient Egypt to Napoleonic France to the mordern day. This is a book full of delicious surprises, superb research, and brilliantly drawn characters that will live on in your heart long after you turn the last page.” —Anne Fortier, author of Juliet

The Book of Lost Fragrances is one of those rare novels that reminds us of the beauty and enormous complexity of the human soul. The way Rose uses perfume’s evocative power is both intelligent and intriguing – triggering her characters memories of their current lives as well as memories of their past lives. This novel is a marvelous discovery.” —Javier Sierra

The Book of Lost Fragrances resonates with spirit, blending myth with reality, tragedy with triumph, pain with joy. You’ll find yourself questioning everything you believe—and wanting more.” —New York Times bestselling author Steve Berry

“Clever, with beguiling characters; a wonderful mixture of suspense and pace and good old fashioned storytelling, and the research never gets in the way of the plot.” —Kate Mosse, author of Labyrinth, Sepulchre, and The Winter Ghosts

Here’s the set-up:

A Secret Worth Dying For …Jac L’Etoile has always been haunted by visions of the past, her earliest memories infused with the exotic scents that she grew up with as the heir to a storied French perfume company. These worsened after her mother’s suicide until she finally found a doctor who helped her, teaching her to explore the mythological symbolism in her visions and thus lessen their painful impact. This ability led Jac to a wildly successful career as a mythologist, television personality and author.

When her brother, Robbie—who’s taken over the House of L’Etoile from their father—contacts Jac about a remarkable discovery in the family archives, she’s skeptical. But when Robbie goes missing before he can share the secret—leaving a dead body in his wake—Jac is plunged into a world she thought she’d left behind.

Traveling back to Paris to investigate Robbie’s disappearance, Jac discovers that the secret is a mysterious scent developed in Cleopatra’s time. Could the rumors swirling be true? Can this ancient perfume hold the power to unlock the ability to remember past lives and conclusively prove reincarnation? If this possession has the power to change the world, then it’s not only worth living for . . . it’s worth killing for, too.

The Book of Lost Fragrances fuses history, passion and suspense in an intoxicating web that moves from Cleopatra’s Egypt and the terrors of revolutionary France to Tibet’s battle with China and the glamour of modern-day Paris. This marvelous, spellbinding novel mixes the sensory allure of Perfume with the heartbreaking beauty of The Time Traveler’s Wife, coming to life as richly as our most wildly imagined dreams.

Phone Kitten

by Marika Christian

4.7 stars – 23 Reviews
Text-to-Speech and Lending: Enabled
Here’s the set-up:

Marika Christian’s PHONE KITTEN introduces an absolutely unique, first-time-ever kind of female sleuth—a totally lovable, intelligent, downright hilarious down-home girl who happens to earn her living as a phone sex worker.

Shy, slightly overweight Emily would die if she had to talk dirty face-to-face—especially to her hot cop boy friend. She sure didn’t set out to do phone sex—she wanted to be a writer. But when her BFF framed her for plagiarism, she got in a tiny financial hole and saw this ad for “phone actresses”… Hey, it’s not nearly as bad as it sounds. No pantyhose or pantsuits, no regular hours, you’re your own boss, and lots of people to talk to. Guys, that is.

But here’s the odd thing—lots of them want to talk about more than Emily’s imagined attributes; they start to think of her as the best friend they’ll never have to meet. Next thing you know, one of her customers gets killed and Emily knows a lot more about it than she should. But she can’t tell the nearest cop, who’s also her own true love, because then he’ll find out about her secret life. What’s a phone kitten to do? Solve the murder herself, of course—because wouldn’t it be a great story for the newspaper that wrongly fired her?

Somehow, first-time author Christian manages to handle a potentially smokin’ subject with such sly wit, authentic detail, and clever writing that you’ll wonder why this subject was ever considered taboo.

Here’s the set-up:

All her life, Breena had always dreamed about fairies as though she lived among them…beautiful fairies living among mortals and living in Feyland. In her dreams, he was always there the breathtakingly handsome but dangerous Winter Prince, Kian, who is her intended. When Breena turns sixteen, she begins seeing fairies and other creatures mortals don t see. Her best friend Logan, suddenly acts very protective. Then she sees Kian, who seems intent on finding her and carrying her off to Feyland. That’s fine and all, but for the fact that humans rarely survive a trip to Feyland, a kiss from a fairy generally means death to the human unless that human has fairy blood in them or is very strong, and although Kian seemed to be her intended, he seems to hate her and wants her dead.

This edgy tale about beautiful and dangerous fairies, based on Dutch lore, will leave you breathless…

About The Author

Danny Iny has been an entrepreneur for longer than his entire adult life. He quit school when he was fifteen to start his first business, and has been doing it ever since. Along the way he ran the Montreal Marathon, got an MBA, and married the most wonderful woman in the world. He’s also worked with companies of all sizes, from the very huge (Nokia, Google) to small businesses and entrepreneurs who are just getting started. These days, he is a prolific blogger and teacher in the Firepole Marketing training program, and enjoys working one-on-one with client businesses to improve their marketing and make more money. Oh, and he’s also the published author of a book about effective communication in writing, university guest lecturer, and the CEO of a start-up company called Bowl of Goals.
