The intruder set the shoe down next to Tom and backed out of the room softly, closing the door to the study and hoping no one would come looking for Tom until morning.

Did You Win a Kindle Fire Today? If Your Name is Steve Wisener You Did! If Not, You Can Enter a Brand New KINDLE FIRE Giveaway Sweepstakes Right Now!
Okay, it’s Monday afternoon in Kindle Nation, so we’ve got good news and bad news. And then we’ve got some more good news.
For the past week, the Scorpio series that begins with Monique Domovitch’s 5-star American saga Scorpio Rising has been helping us all out by sponsoring Week #3 of our Kindle Nation KINDLE FIRE Sweepstakes.
We had a new record of 2,277 entries, and we had hundreds of winners.
Well, of course we had one big GRAND PRIZE winner. Kindle Nation citizen Steve Wisener of Northfield, Minnesota was randomly selected from all the entries to win a KINDLE FIRE tablet. We connected with Steve last night via email and he wrote back to us: “I’m so excited!! I’ve been loving the weekly contests and so far I’ve picked up 3 great new books from the sponsors of each weeks
drawing. So I was already feeling like a winner!”
But hundreds of other participants are big winners, too, because they have had a chance to discover author Monique Domovitch. After all, it’s all about the reading here at Kindle Nation. (And just in case you are wondering, Monique paid the full cost of Steve’s new Kindle Fire. Every penny. What’s that? Did you ask me to repeat the links to Monique’s Scorpio series in the Kindle Store? Okay then. Thanks for asking! The Fire is slated to ship on November 15, and Amazon has confirmed for us that Steve’s will arrive at his home on November 16!)
Those who haven’t won a Kindle Fire yet — yep, there’s that bad news we mentioned — will not have to wallow in despair for long. Why? Because we have already opened up our Kindle Nation Week #4 KINDLE FIRE Giveaway Sweepstakes. The Week #4 Sweepstakes runs until noon on Sunday November 6 , and entry details can be found at the end of this post.
But there’s another changing of the guard that we would be remiss not to mention: we have a brand new sponsor for Week #4, and those who have yet to discover Jack Harney’s true 5-star thriller THE MILLSTONE PROPHECY are in for a special treat at the equally terrific price of just $2.99! 17 straight Amazon reviewers have weighed in with rave reviews, and NYT’s best selling author Mary Jane Clark praised Harney’s page-turner on her Facebook page!
support of The Millstone Prophecy, NY Times best selling author, Mary Jane Clark, wrote on her Facebook page, ‘It’s as if Jack Harney had a crystal ball!'”
One Reviewer Notes:
So … is that it?
Of course not!
Here are the details on the Kindle Nation Week #4 KINDLE FIRE Giveaway Sweepstakes:
There’s no purchase required, but we do need you to go to our Kindle Nation Facebook page and “Like” us. Give the page a few seconds to load, because for some reason it takes a little longer.
Then just scroll down and follow the prompts to enter the sweepstakes, and you’re done! (Of course, if you want to really improve your chances of winning by multiplying your good fortune by your good karma, we hope you’ll take a page from grand prize winner Steve Wisener’s book and pick up both The Millstone Prophecy and Scorpio Rising. But like we say, there’s no purchase necessary.)
It’s that simple.
Good luck. And happy reading!

Melanie Atkins’ MARKED FOR MURDER is our 5-Star Kindle Nation eBook of the Day, and Here’s a Free Sample!
Here’s the set-up for Melanie Atkin’s Marked for Murder, just $5.99 on Kindle:
Detective Jonah McKee and his fellow Keller County Cops believe a beautiful amnesia victim is the key to solving a brutal serial killer case.
McKee is forced to juggle caring for his rowdy three year-old son and protecting and the victim, who was targeted by a vicious serial murderer… or was she?
Brooke Wilson finally remembers her own name — and the name of the man trying to kill her — and the terrifying memory sends her on the run again.
Jonah is forced to hide his son and go with her in order to protect her, and along the way they fall in love.
From a reviewer:
Marked for Murder by Melanie Atkins is the first novel in the Keller County Cops series. Detective Jonah McKee believes he finally has a live witness to help solve a serial killer spree when a beautiful amnesia victim is found wrapped in a tarp on the side of a road. Dubbed the Handyman because such tarps are often used by painters, the killer has eluded capture and victims are found tossed and wrapped like garbage. This one’s drivers license says she’s Ellen Robinson, but is she, or is she an attorney from Chicago? Who is this woman who has invaded his and his son’s life before he even realizes it? Before he knows what’s hit him, the detective is on the run determined to protect her and has to leave his son with a friend to keep him out of harm’s reach.
If you like on-the-edge chase stories with romance, this is your novel. It’s edgy, set in Mississippi. I found it a wonderful quick read. I loved the descriptions of the Mississippi land and the wooded camp where they think they’re safe, since it’s secluded and high on stilts to keep it from flooding. I felt for the victim. The author does a great job of making you care about her and uses rich detail. – Barbara Robinson
