This box set delivers the first three books in the addictive, award-winning and best-selling Soul Savers series with over 1 million books read.

A Demon’s Promise

When Alexis Ames is attacked by creatures that can’t be real, she decides it’s time she learns who she really is, with or without the help of her mother, who guards their family’s secrets closely. After meeting the inhumanly attractive, multi-talented Tristan Knight, however, Alexis retreats behind her façade of normalcy…until she discovers he’s not exactly normal either. Then their secrets begin to unravel.

Their union brings hope and promise to her family’s secret society, the Angels’ army, and to the future of mankind. But it also incites a dangerous pursuit by the enemy – Satan’s minions and Tristan’s creators. After all, Alexis and Tristan are a match made in Heaven and in Hell.

An Angel’s Purpose

Lost in despair, Alexis teeters on the edge of an abyss, her lifeline of hope fraying into a thin thread. If it snaps, she’ll plunge into complete darkness. With the help of her son and her writing, she’s been able to hold on. Until now. Erratic impulses, disturbing delusions and her own demonic blood threaten her sanity. When she’s forced to choose between hanging onto hope or letting go to serve her Amadis purposes, she faces a decision with inconceivable sacrifices.

Alexis runs to the one place she thinks will provide answers, only to find herself at the center of another battle of good versus evil, not only with the Daemoni, not only within herself…but also against the worst opponent imaginable. But even if she wins, what will she lose?

Dangerous Devotion

Now that she’s received her extraordinary powers, Alexis has much to learn about her new life, her new world, and the people in it—vampires, mages, shifters, and more. Nothing is what it seems on the surface, including the matriarch’s council members, who are hardly different than their human counterparts—seedy, power-hungry, greedy politicians. Alexis’s first assignment is to use her gifts to identify the traitor who lurks among the council. Not an easy task when she learns that everybody’s hiding secrets, including information about a girl who just might be her daughter.

When the enemy attacks, Alexis and her family are forced to run, so they set out to find the girl who might offer hope for the future. But the search for answers leads only to the revelation of more betrayals by those closest to Alexis. Her devotion is put to the test—devotion to her husband, to her family, to her people, and to her beliefs—leaving her to question whom she’s fighting for and why she should even bother. But if she won’t fight . . . who will?

From Iris Reading: What Happens In The Brain While Reading?

Different brain parts get activated when you read, such as the temporal lobe, angular and supramarginal gyrus, and frontal lobe. Consequently, neural responses help you understand, visualize and vocalize words. As you read, your brain’s limbic system also activates emotions.

Brain activity increases in the left hemisphere while reading. Your brain becomes engaged in helping you decode sound, handle speech production, and use and comprehend grammar.

When you understand what happens in the brain while reading, you can improve your reading skills. It will help you learn how to read fast and retain information.

The brain doesn’t use specific parts to read. Instead, reading engages different regions of the brain via multiple processes. Thanks to brain imaging, you can now see pictures of brain activity and anatomy while reading. Brain imaging shows which brain parts activate as you read.

“This is a random universe,” Reacher says. “Once in a blue moon things turn out just right.”

This isn’t one of those times.

Reacher is on a Greyhound bus, minding his own business, with no particular place to go, and all the time in the world to get there. Then he steps off the bus to help an old man who is obviously just a victim waiting to happen. But you know what they say about good deeds. Now Reacher wants to make it right.

An elderly couple have made a few well-meaning mistakes, and now they owe big money to some very bad people. One brazen move leads to another, and suddenly Reacher finds himself a wanted man in the middle of a brutal turf war between rival Ukrainian and Albanian gangs.

Reacher has to stay one step ahead of the loan sharks, the thugs, and the assassins. He teams up with a fed-up waitress who knows a little more than she’s letting on, and sets out to take down the powerful and make the greedy pay. It’s a long shot. The odds are against him. But Reacher believes in a certain kind of justice . . . the kind that comes along once in a blue moon.

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: The Measure of Christian Maturity

Here’s the set-up:
In II Corinthians 13:5 we are told to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith. In Lamentations 3:40 we are told to examine our ways and test them, and to return to doing things the Lord’s way. In I Corinthians 11:28 we are to examine ourselves before we partake of communion, to see if we are right with God. In Hebrews 12:15 we are to see to it that no one among us falls short of the grace that God has given us. Galatians 6:4 tells each of us to test his own actions. The writer of Psalm 139:23-24 implores the Lord to search his heart and find out if there is any wicked way in him that needs to be addressed and repented of. These and many other passages of scripture urge us towards self-examination and self-judgement. The Bible provides a few measuring sticks by which we can estimate our growth and progress in spiritual things. The fruit of the Spirit in Galatians chapter five is one of those measuring sticks. Using these nine aspects of the fruit of the Spirit, we can get an accurate estimate of our spiritual growth and see if we are at least heading in the right direction and maturing in God.

Were the killings justice or murder?
By whom—or what?
Comprehension rocks him when animal control officer Nate Chee spots three massive grey dogs near the savaged bodies of a couple of animal abusers.

Despite his horror of what was done to the so-called victims, Nate secretly believes justice has been exacted. His job has taught him that too many times cruel or neglectful owners don’t pay for their actions. This time was different.

Still, it was murder. He must inform law enforcement of where to look for the greys.

Now that she has returned to her roots in southern Oregon, teacher Rachelle Reams is thrilled to re-connect with her step-father, a former POW. Her only concern is Joe’s willingness to let the dogs he found on a Hopi reservation run free. She owes Joe so much, deeply loves the lonely old man.

When Nate tells Joe and Rachelle he’s convinced the greys are killers, Rachelle jumps to Joe’s defense. The greys have given Joe’s life meaning. Besides, the abusers got what they deserved.

She isn’t drawn to Nate, she isn’t! He feels nothing for her, nothing!

For the dogs, life is simple. They do what primal instinct demands.
And they’ve just begun.

Reader comments:
“WOW just wow, this is different from anything I ever read before. Recommend it to anyone able to take nature in the wild.” ***
“A well written tale of vindictive wolves. Fast paced. Full of surprises. Yea for the wolves. If only it was a true story. If you are an animal lover, it’s a must read.” ***
“A very different book. I would guess every animal lover, when reading about the abuse some people heap on animals, has thought of punishment to fit the crime. But do we truly want to go there? An eye for an eye kind of justice?” ***
