Here’s the set-up:

Clarissa, a young woman of Asian and Caucasian heritage, is a nomad who has called seven countries home, yet belongs to none. Now, she yearns for roots to ground her drifting existence. But where should these roots take hold?

Searching for identity and permanence, she gravitates towards the city of her birth. Here, she finds herself entangled in the intriguing mystery of stolen illuminated manuscripts—medieval artistry pushed to obscurity by the dawn of the printing press. Will this quest grant her the sense of belonging she yearns for, or simply plunge her deeper into uncertainty?

For Clarissa, these ancient manuscripts stir tender memories of bedtime stories her mother once read to her, igniting an enduring love for art.

The breadcrumbs of her investigation lead to an American soldier, a relic of World War II, who had secretly hoarded the stolen artwork for half a century. But as Clarissa digs deeper, expecting answers, she encounters mysteries that beget more questions.

Innocent in life yet rich in artistry, Clarissa is disillusioned by the elusive and sometimes unscrupulous underbelly of the art world that the quest unveils. What drives individuals to theft and conquerors to plunder art from the defeated? Why are artworks auctioned for astronomical prices? Who determines the value of a masterpiece, and on what grounds?

The Golden Manuscripts is inspired by the real-life theft of medieval manuscript illuminations during World War II.

Dive into this intriguing tale and navigate the fascinating labyrinth of art, theft, identity, and the human longing to belong.

Here’s the set-up:

This charming story about three California sisters spending the summer on Cape Cod is perfect for fans of The Penderwicks—as a starred ALA Booklist review raved—and The Mother-Daughter Book Club.

Though Marigold, Zinnia, and Lily Silver couldn’t be more different, they’re all excited about summer vacation. Twelve-year-old Marigold is hoping to get her first kiss from her big crush, while Zinnia, eleven, will most likely spend her time in Marigold’s shadow. And five-year-old Lily, though angelic, has a knack for stirring up mischief wherever she goes.

But all of their plans come crashing down when the sisters’ parents send them to Cape Cod to visit their Aunt Sunny. Small-town life is not what these LA girls had in mind. They must adjust, however, to things like sharing a room and living without a TV. With the help of Aunt Sunny’s cheery disposition and her yummy brownies, though, the girls are quickly won over, and before Marigold, Zinnie, and Lily know it, they’re cracking lobster shells at clambakes, making new friends, and even organizing a local talent show.

Full of moments both humorous and reflective, The Forget-Me-Not Summer is a story about three girls facing their fears, adjusting to change, and learning how to band together as the strongest version of themselves: sisters. Be sure to catch the sequel, The Brightest Stars of Summer, for more fun on Cape Cod!

Here’s the set-up:

This is not one of those comforting novels where the characters team up to battle the threat together. This is the one where they are alone and terrified… and then, when ready, she comes for them.

Lucy was dead: to begin with. Burned to conceal his crime. Ashes dumped. Gone forever. No-one cared.
Resurrected. Hungry for revenge. So very hungry…

Floating Hair is a bleak, brutal, and unsettling horror novel which includes doomed romances.

Okay, so you have clicked on “Read more” and want to know further details about my novel:

Floating Hair is a gothic horror novel, with a female perspective, set in north-eastern United States.

David, grieving for his lost wife, returns to Malsham: finding new love, and a town filled with romantic, sexual, and criminal lives.

And some bad men. Especially one…

In 1692, Lucy was burned as a witch to conceal his crime: the ravaging fire destroying every aspect of her identity. In the centuries that follow, no-one is held responsible. But now she is given a chance of retribution…

On a cold October night, there is a light in the sky. The population of Malsham watches its blazing progress, before it crashes into the lake. In that moment before impact, some become psychically bound: their lives forever linked.

The explosion resurrects Lucy as a relentless fire vampire. Initially unable to leave the waters, she births small dragons which feed upon those who will not be missed: the homeless, the friendless, the outsiders… She gains sustenance from their endeavours.

Rain deluges the region. Hauling herself from the lake, the rainwater coats her skin: churning from transparent into disparate dark colours. Allowing her to hunt.

Then, when she is strong enough, she summons the fearsome winter and…

Trigger warning: This book features dragons. If you survived the burning of King’s Landing, please give this one a miss…

In response to some of the reviews: The main theme of Floating Hair is isolation. All of the main characters are isolated: emotionally and/or socially. They live in a small town in the mountains, so easily cut off from the outside world. Each has their own storyline, with some overlap, but the overarching plot is Lucy’s origin story.

And, yes, this is not one of those comforting novels where the characters team up to battle the threat together. This is the one where they are alone and terrified… and then, when ready, she comes for them.

Only the family screwup could fall for the cop…
After years of screwing up left and right, a rap sheet a mile long, and three Oscars…
I’ve finally settled in my family’s small town social experiment.
And my sights and heart are set on Amy.
The beautiful girl next door is perfection.
She’s also police chief.
A minor conflict of interest.
Still, I can’t stay away.
Even when she slams the cell door shut anytime we’re close.
The thing is…I’ve changed.
My family may hover like I’m poised to flop face-first off the wagon.
But I’m doing great, and I plan to prove it to Amy.
My goofy jokes can make her smile. I just can’t convince her I have more to offer than belly laughs and chemistry so hot it might be illegal.
Not even bedazzled thongs, an accidental raunchy text, or sexy handcuff play can fully break down her walls.
The harder I try to show I’m a new man, the surer I am Chief Lovelin locked up my heart and chucked the key.
It’s time to prove to her that the changes in my life aren’t just for show.

Clever. Cunning. Highly skilled. There’s only one Bianca St. Ives. And for her enemies, that’s one too many . . .

Bianca St. Ives was recently put through the wringer, but she came out the same way she always does, the way her father trained her to—hungry for a fight. Still navigating the fallout from a shocking revelation that’s left a network of assassins’ crosshairs trained on her, Bianca’s ready to take fate into her own hands. It’s kill or be killed, and she’s got her finger flush against the trigger.
