Here’s the set-up:

In Strangers and Angels, Gabe Reaume presents a new collection of stories about life, making a living, and living life to the fullest. From early days in rural America, to an unusual friendship as a young man with a woman old enough to be his grandmother, to an account of rising through the ranks in his chosen profession, these stories introduce an interesting cast of characters and a heart-warming look at what the world can bring you if you work hard and stay open to the unexpected circumstances and people placed in your midst.

Strangers and Angels is about making dreams come true, not only through perseverance and positive thinking but also through kindness–or, as Reaume prefers, “You win with people.” Everyone he meets along the way, from a Michigan dairy farmer to a cranky old rancher and above all, one very special granny plays a role in this bighearted memoir that will inspire and delight you.

A reminder that it is in the little moments that we impact a person’s life

The nature of the book made me look back upon my life and appreciate those moments when someone extended me a helping hand or even did as little as checking up on me when I did not even know I needed it. If you would like to feel genuinely warm and fuzzy inside from relatable content, this might be the book you have been looking for. It is so simple and beautiful that I could not help but keep reading and seeing what other way people would be a spark of light in a dark world.

–Reitumetse Mokoena, Reedsy Discovery Reviewer

Strangers & Angels by Gabe Reaume…It’s a terrific read by a city manager here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I was struck by something one of the readers noted in a review.

Here’s what she wrote: It’s a reminder that it is in the little moments that we impact a person’s life.

That’s the career of a public servant in a nutshell. I know it’s more complicated than that, but at its heart, public service has an impact on people’s lives. In big ways and in small, what public servants do matters. They all matter.

I wish everyone in public service could read this review or, better yet, read the book. They should know that what they do—even the small things, maybe especially the small things—has an impact.

I think public servants, especially those in local government, could use a sign of their own to remind them of their importance in the world. It could read: It’s in the little moments that we impact a person’s life.

Here’s the set-up:
Why is an American guy living in London? My sister got engaged to a Brit, so I ditched New York and moved here too. I never expected to meet a hot older woman who kicks my lust into overdrive. Diana Sangster is a powerful business tycoon who always gets what she wants. Now that I’ve signed on to serve as her bodyguard, I’ll spend twenty-four hours a day with the sexiest woman I’ve ever met.

But that annoying other shoe just smacked down on my head.

Diana wants me to be her “donor.” No, she’s not asking for my kidney or my life savings. She wants to have a baby—by screwing me repeatedly until we hit the jackpot. To protect her public image and her privacy, she insists I keep our arrangement a secret. Once that stick turns pink, we go back to strictly business, and I get a sweet promotion.

I must be crazy. Why else would I accept her deal? Well, I’ve always loved trouble.

One Hot Deal is the eighth book in the Hot Brits series of romantic comedies.
