Ms Colvin takes an interesting subject, Greek Mythology, and turns it into the most evocative, engaging, and visually arresting characters I have ever encountered. If you don't find yourself living the story line, feeling the angst, the longing, the betrayal, the emotions, along with the characters, you may be living impaired.

Here's the set-up:

For 3000 years, Alex has dreamt of a life with his mortal beloved, Valeria. And it appears that they will at last have a chance for a life together!

But when they approach the ancient council of immortals, for approval of the marriage,
they discover that sinister forces object to their union. Soon they find themselves faced with terrifying threats including a devastating separation that neither may survive!
One Reviewer Notes:
I have to say I am very impressed with Delia's writing style. She draws you into the personality and innermost thoughts of the characters. The tendency to think you know what's going to happen next is quickly dispelled as the adventure takes unexpected twists. It will be exciting to find out what happens next!! Very enjoyable reading!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best YA Paranormal Books I’ve Read – A Definite Must Read!,October 7, 2012
By
Stephanie Ward (Cochranton, PA United States)
This review is from: Ephemeral (The Countenance) (Kindle Edition)

Oh, how I loved this book. I apologize now for any gushing and rambling that will occur in this review. ‘Ephemeral’ is a completely enchanting novel that mixes the best aspects of genres together and produces something entirely new and unlike anything else out there. There’s so much going on throughout the story – zombies, creepy supernatural creatures, angels, and alternate realities. There’s a superb mix of mystery, romance, thrilling action and a fast-paced plot that compels you to keep reading until you’ve devoured the last word, only to leave you wanting more.

I loved the complex and intriguing world that the author creates in the novel. Like I mentioned, there are so many different paranormal aspects converging in the storyline that it is completely enthralling. The overlying mystery of what really happened to Laken and what is going on in this new place she’s found herself is very detailed and engrossing. There always seemed to be new twists and underlying secrets to keep the reader guessing. The romance in the book is deliciously steamy, but not overdone in the least. I found it to be the perfect level of toe-curling intimacy without diverting attention away from the rest of the story. The characters are all unique and have well rounded personalities that make them really believable and easy to identify with. I felt like I was right there beside Laken, rooting for her and wanting to help her figure out what was going on. The setting of the novel – everything from the town of Ephemeral to the school and beyond – was the perfect mix of creepy and otherwordly. The history and the backstory that the author creates in the book are very detailed and make the story that much deeper and more interesting. There honestly isn’t enough praise I can give this book – it’s definitely one of the best I’ve read this year and a new favorite of mine. READ THIS BOOK if you haven’t already – you will not regret it!!

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Introducing “Amazon AutoRip

Customers Now Receive Free MP3 Versions of CDs Purchased From Amazon

Past, Present and Future

Here’s some very cool news from Amazon, and … call us greedy, but we can’t help but wonder: if they can do this for music today, might they be able to do it for books sometime soon?

Introducing “Amazon AutoRip” – Customers Now Receive Free MP3 Versions of CDs Purchased From Amazon – Past, Present and Future

Customers who have purchased AutoRip CDs from Amazon dating back to 1998 will find free MP3 versions automatically added to their Cloud Player accounts – free of charge

AutoRip is the latest in a series of customer benefits exclusive to the Amazon ecosystem of digital content

AutoRipSEATTLE–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jan. 10, 2013– (NASDAQ: AMZN)—Amazon today announced the launch of Amazon AutoRip, a new service that gives customers free MP3 versions of CDs they purchase from Amazon. When customers purchase AutoRip CDs, the MP3 versions are automatically added to their Cloud Player libraries, where they are available, free of charge, for immediate playback or download – no more waiting for the CD to arrive. Additionally, customers who have purchased AutoRip CDs at any time since Amazon first opened its Music Store in 1998 will find MP3 versions of those albums in their Cloud Player libraries – also automatically and for free. More than 50,000 albums, including titles from every major record label, are available for AutoRip, and more titles are added all the time – customers can just look for the AutoRip logo.

“What would you say if you bought music CDs from a company 15 years ago, and then 15 years later that company licensed the rights from the record companies to give you the MP3 versions of those CDs… and then to top it off, did that for you automatically and for free?” said Jeff Bezos, Amazon.com Founder and CEO. “Well, starting today, it’s available to all of our customers – past, present, and future – at no cost. We love these opportunities to do something unexpected for our customers.”

AutoRip features include:

  • Free digital copies: Amazon customers who purchase AutoRip CDs get free MP3 versions of the albums delivered directly to their Cloud Player libraries – automatically, immediately, and at no cost – no more hassling with ripping CDs and finding a way to get them onto your favorite devices.
  • For CD purchases dating back to 1998: MP3 versions of AutoRip CDs that customers have purchased since the launch of Amazon’s music store in 1998 will also be delivered to their Cloud Player libraries for free.
  • Enjoy everywhere: Music can be played instantly from any Kindle Fire, Android phone or tablet, iPhone, iPod touch, Samsung TVs, Roku, Sonos, and any web browser, giving customers the freedom to enjoy music from more devices than any other major cloud locker music service.
  • Free storage and backup: All AutoRip MP3s are stored for free in customers’ Cloud Player libraries and do not count against Cloud Player storage limits. Customers can buy music and know that it is safely stored in Cloud Player and accessible from any compatible device.
  • High-quality audio: AutoRip music is provided in high-quality 256 Kbps MP3 audio.

AutoRip is available for industry-wide top-sellers like “21” by Adele; new and recent releases like “¡Uno!”, “¡Dos!” and “¡Tre!” by Green Day, “Overexposed” by Maroon 5, and “The Truth About Love” by P!nk; classics like “Dark Side of the Moon” by Pink Floyd and “Thriller” by Michael Jackson; and Amazon customer favorites like “I Dreamed A Dream” by Susan Boyle, which was the most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon.

In many cases, customers can buy an AutoRip CD, including the free digital copy, for less than they would pay for only the digital album at iTunes.

AutoRip is the latest in a series of new digital music features from Amazon launched in recent months. The Amazon MP3 Store recently expanded its catalog to offer more than 21 million songs and everyday low prices on best-selling albums, many starting at $5. In June, Amazon launched Cloud Player for iPhone and iPod touch. In July, Amazon added new scan and match technology that enables customers to import music into Amazon Cloud Player by scanning their iTunes and Windows Media Player libraries and matching songs on their computers to Amazon’s music catalog. All matched songs – even music purchased from iTunes or ripped from CDs – are upgraded to high-quality 256 Kbps audio and are made available instantly in customers’ Cloud Player libraries, making it even easier for customers to enjoy their entire music collection anywhere. More recently, Amazon made Cloud Player available on Samsung TVs, Roku and Sonos, further extending Cloud Player’s accessibility.

About The Author

David Greene’s creative life has evolved from film to photography to writing. He wrote and directed the film, Pamela and Ian, in which the characters grapple with the fact that they are shadows of light and that the film must end.

His show of photographs, called Shameless, was exhibited in Berkeley, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Zurich, and includes work in Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art’s collection.

David began writing fiction after being guided into a hypnotic trance by a researcher documenting past life memories. David’s memories from that past-life regression session were the genesis for his first novel, Unmentionables, about slaves who lived and loved during the Civil War era.

David’s most recent novel, the thriller Detonate, an homage to Hitchcock, employs a classic “wrong man” plot. Detonate is the first of a series of novels featuring private investigator Tyrone King who is half white, half black, half straight, half gay. He’s a hero who seeks to get the bad guys without using guns or violence.

David is the spouse of painter James Stephens. They live in Chicago.

BUSTED
Baily Sinclair is used to playing the cards she’s been dealt. When her only living relative falls ill, she puts her education on hold and takes over his job as head groundskeeper at the Rosemont. Her only decadence is her nightly swim, when she can shed her troubles along with her clothes, at least until a man shows up on the uninhabited estate and demands her surrender.

YOU’LL PAY FOR THAT
Held captive by a stranger, she can hardly believe when her body responds to his rough seduction. Especially when she realizes her secret lover is Connor Edge, the billionaire playboy. But there’s more to this man than makes the supermarket tabloids, a darkness he hides from the world and that Baily finds simply irresistible.

One Reviewer Notes

“… All the fun of being swept off your feet by the dashing, yet tortured billionaire, and the sex. Oh my GOD, the sex is just fantastic. What I love about McCormick’s writing is that every story takes you on a roller coaster ride and pulls no punches. She doesn’t hesitate to go in for the kill. And this delicious introduction to the Edgeplay universe doesn’t disappoint. I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for the next installment. No pun intended, Mr. Edge.” – Amazon Reviewer, 5 Stars
